John D. Edwards was born at Uxbridge, Middlesex in 1952, his mother's maiden name was Bird. John studied at Harrow School and Central School of Art from 1970-1974, before working with artists including Sir Peter Blake (born 1932), Jim Dine (born 1935) and Benjamin Lauder 'Ben' Nicholson (1894-1982) in the 1970s. Since 1980, John has had exhibitions all over the world, from London to Tokyo including Odette Gilbert Gallery, Cork Street; The Mayor Gallery and The Lefevre Gallery in London and at The Charles Campbell Gallery, San Francisco, the Somoza Simms in Houston Texas and at Spark Inc. in Tokyo and elsewhere and locally at Studio 3, Town Hall, Ipswich. His paintings are in many private and public collections. In 1997 he was living and working in Ipswich and latterly at Observation Court, 84 Princes Street, Ipswich. Author of 'How Cancer Saved My Life' (2007).
