Clement-Serveau was a French painter, designer, engraver and illustrator. His early works were realist in style but he was soon interested in the new movements. A friend of Louis Marcoussis, he began to experiment with cubism and later in his career he turned towards abstraction. It is interesting to note that he designed bank notes for the Banque de France. This is a beautiful composition from a known artist of the period.
